The FilmReverseIt app

No data collected

FilmReverseIt does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal information. It has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking, and no third-party software development kits that collect data. The app works fully offline.

Your photos are processed on your device

Every photo you take or open in FilmReverseIt is converted and edited entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Finished pictures are saved only where you choose: your photo library or a folder in the Files app.

Permissions the app asks for

  • Camera — to photograph film negatives and slides. Camera images are used only to make your scan.
  • Add to Photos — to save finished pictures to your photo library. The app asks only to add photos; it cannot browse your library. Photos you choose to open are picked with Apple’s private photo picker, which shares only the photo you select.
  • Files — when you choose a file to open or a folder to save into, the app can access only that file or folder.

You can change these permissions at any time in the Settings app.

Settings and metadata stay on your device

Your preferences — presets, default image information such as film type and camera, the file name format and the save destination — are stored only on your device. Information you enter in Image Info is written into the files you save, so it travels with a photo if you share it; you can clear any field before saving.

Analytics

filmreverseit.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records information such as the pages you view, the links and buttons you use, your approximate location (country or city), and your browser and device type. It never records what you type into forms. Google Analytics uses cookies; you can block them in your browser, or opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on. See how Google uses this information.

Contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject, any device details you add, your message, and your IP address. We use them only to reply to you and to keep the form free of abuse, and we never share or sell them. To stop automated spam the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending the message.

Light and dark mode

Your Light, Dark or System appearance choice for this site is saved in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your browser.

Children

FilmReverseIt is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
